Goodbye my dear

My life is not a tale
why do I always fail?
I have lost my way
I have lost the key
the key of happiness
the key of brightness
I'm bored in darkness
and diving in loneliness

I want to laugh but I don't know how
I want to stop weeping but I can't now
If only the joy was for rent
I will be ready to smile now

However hard I try to forget you
Today, I'm still counting the days
waiting for you and dreaming of you
But I'm getting hopeless
And I'm drowning in sadness
where have you gone?
Why do you let me alone?
Whatever things I say or do
I'm still thinking of you
My heart belongs to you
My arms need you
My tears call you
And now I miss you

I used to be wrapped by your love
And now I'm like naked and I'm cold
I know I can't bring you to life
But I can feel you everynight
caressing and healing my pain
comforting me and leaving again
I will not bear living alone with my fears
But I must Whisper you: "Goodbye my dear"

but as I told you before that between verses, there is always a story
so, I can't undrestand this verse
I know I can't bring you to life
Is It a methaphore, or has he really gone from this life??

Now speaking about this verse " I know I can't bring you to life", there's no metaphor. I meant that he didn't belong to this life anymore. By the way, this is a movie (a walk to remember) that inspire me this poem, it's not autobiographical.
